I am sorry but want to not be on something but need to work and function as best as possible. Definitely are and will do the alternative stuff.
Thought benzo horrible also. Which I know cause probably still in mist of that.
I sure appreciate the thoughtful comments and thoughts.
My best answer is that paxil will take time to build up in your system so you will need to take it for a length of time again to notice the difference (and this is bad), while ativan will give immediate relief or not and you will have a better idea what you are withdrawing from. Like I said though this is "my best guess". I reinstated ativan and got immediate relief from anxiety but not some of the other symptoms so I assume that I was withdrawing from the zoloft. The ativan taper I am now on is to help me cope with the ssri withdrawal.

If you felt horrible on the benzos... then I would just ride it out and find the best natural meds to cope. But that is just me.

Good luck...and the natural meds are not nearly as powerful but they do work. You have to experiment and educate yourself as best you can though on each one. Also try not taking them all at once. You can see a doctor (naturalpathic) and do it this way or just try one thing at a time to see how the supplements work. I would certainly try magnesium first as it is a natural muscle relaxer and has 300+ regulation and/or stableizing properties for the human body. The problem with magnesium supplementation is that if you take too much...you get the runs but if you take it transdermally...it bypasses the bowels and goes into the blood without meeting up in the bowels - you can take a heavy dose this way. It is nearly impossible to overdose on magnesium unless you have kidney failure or problems. The Magnesium in epsom salt is about 10% and is great for anxiety directly and relieving it indirectly by relaxing the muscles. I would suggest trying that first and see if it helps. There is also magnesium chloride which is the best absorbed magnesium you can get (research shows).Magnesium chloride oil can be bought fairly cheaply on the internet but is hard to find in stores. Also slow-mag or pro-mag (magnesium chloride that is sold in stores) can be taken at the same time orally as much as the bowels can handle. Magnesium is also a cure for constipation if taken orally...this I guarantee or your money back (LOL). After trying magnesium for a week or two...I would then try adding omega 3 fish oil and go from there. Melatonin is good for sleep for a lot of people but ther are an abundance of sleep aides to try. My suggestion is to "not load up on all of them at once because then you will not know what is helping or what is not...actually some of the supplements can actually make you feel worse so they should be treated as "real medicine" and not be taken lightly (as far as dosing and otherwise). Supplement are certainly much much more safer then prescription drugs though.

All the best, Robb

If you were habituated (addicted) to benzos, you may not be able to take them on an as-needed basis. Once I tapered off Klonopin, I could not take any benzo again without an adverse reaction.
