Inner Ear Thumping Anyone?!

For the last week or so, I have been getting this random thumping/fluttering in my inner left ear. It appeared out of the blue at work. I liken it to a twitching eyelid but inside the ear. It sounds like a thumping drum of some sort. Anyone experience anything like it? And no, it's not the kind that sounds like a heart beat/pulse.

Re: Inner Ear Thumping Anyone?!

Yep, I get it from time to time in my left ear. In my case, it's sinus related as that's the side I have all the sinus issues on. It just started, on and off, about a year ago.

Re: Inner Ear Thumping Anyone?!

Wow, thanks for the feedback. I see an ENT doc on Tuesday, not sure if he could help. It was bad yesterday that I had occurring episodes. For you, did it just go away on its own?

Re: Inner Ear Thumping Anyone?!

Yes, but I've had problems with my ears for years. Since I began taking paxil in 2001 I've had one sinus infection after the other. I also take zyrtec daily.

Hope you feel better and good luck with your appointment on Tuesday.

Re: Inner Ear Thumping Anyone?!

I have had a lot of pulsing sounds since starting my weaning. In fact, I am having to really deal with my allergies, this fall; moreso than ever before.

I hope this backs off in time. Meanwhile, feel better in knowing that you are in good company. Try not to concentrate on the thumping, and continue to go about your business. I take allergy meds and have had to resort back to Sudafed (it doesn't make me nervous when I'm on a steady dose.)
