Re: Feel scared

When is it time to updose and go back? I feel so awful, shaky, exhausted, sad, depressed. My brain isn't functioning. Bad stomach, insomnia. No nausea though. Had some good days since I last wrote here. It comes in waves?
Could someone please give advice when you just should hang in and when you should go back?

Re: Feel scared

Hi Amy,

I've had trouble with that too, not knowing if I should updose or not. I have updosed in the past when things just didn't seem to be getting any better. However, I kind of wish I had stuck it out as I lost a year of tapering because of updosing but at the time it is what made sense to me. If you have had good days recently, I would try to hold out and hopefully you'll experience another break soon.

Hang in there!
Michele

Re: Feel scared

Thanks Michele!
I had four awful days ten day ago, then four good days and now four bad days again. I feeel so close to updose , but I don't know. Have a really hard time taking care of my kids and function at work - and that scares me a lot. End up catastrofhe thinking when I wake up in the middle of the night. I am so insecure about my taper.

I thought I could taper faster, since I haven't been on the drug for so long, but now I don't know what to think.
It's normal what you are feeling.....I've had those same symptoms you describe. You are tapering too fast. It's not a race. If your symptoms are making you feel that terrible, then updose back to where you tapered last and stabilize...then wait at least 4 to six weeks between each drop (longer if you need to).

Re: Feel scared

Thanks for your reply. I will give it some more day. But It's horrible. Sometimes I feel I'd just coldturkey, to be over with. But it's an irrational thought, I know! But it's so hard to be rational when you feel this chaotic. I could pay a million dollar (that I don't have ) just to feel back to normal me again.
Maybe I cant even tolerate a 10 % drop? It was less than that, but in smaller steps for three weeks. Or was it these steps that made it worse you mean? Or is it me overreacting to normal symptoms during taper? I feel quite lost and so scared that I am totally loosing it.

Re: Feel scared

Amy .... I dont know you, I just joined, havent even started tapering yet but WHOA I know those feelings from previous attempts to get off the stuff. Almost everything you've said - I've had. And its so scary, I know. Usually sent me right back onto it again. I'm not much help coz I'm still confused about the whole issue but I just wanted to say I know I know I know I know I know ALL those feelings and you are not alone. You have helped me just by writing it all down so eloquently. Look back on your happier posts and know you'll feel good again - you will!! (And I notice even on your yukky days you still have a sense of humour in your posts - hold onto that.) So much good luck and good vibes to you from me!

Alby! Thanks! I just wrote in your journal. It means alot to me that you posted to me! It's nice to feel that you're not totally alone. It's a warm feeling that on this site there are people from all over the world with some kind of same experiences that we can share. Well it's of course sad also...
