Accupuncture
I am about 1 week off the meds and thought it could help my body to do some accupuncture to help with the detox part of withdrawal. I am sick thinking about my liver processing 20 mg of Lexapro for 5 1/2 years. Ugh.
Anyone else do this? Any success?

Re: Accupuncture
I'd say the results here have been mixed. Some people had a good benefit, but in others, the detox aspect of the process seems to trigger bad stuff. I personally would avoid for awhile anything that stimulates the nervous system. As we've seen with supplements, the CNS is very easily tipped off balance during w/d, even by things that might typically seem helpful or benign.

Re: Accupuncture
Your liver will take care of itself. It's your brain that needs to time to recover.

Re: Accupuncture
Both are very good points. No go with the acupuncture for now. Need to relax the brain and the CNS. It's incredible how sensitive both are right now.

Re: Accupuncture
I agree with Laurie. Every year in my lab work, my doctor has been having my liver enzymes tested, and I didn't even know it until this year when I asked about it. I've been A-OK, despite having been on an SSRI for 14+ years.
You are going in the right direction, so I think that you can bank on the liver landing on its "feet" for you.
