Remeron withdrawal help needed

I just got off benzo's valium 9 weeks ago after 5 years of taking them not knowing that they were causing my tolerance problems. I was put on 30 mg remeron one year ago. I went off the benzo's completely 9 weeks ago. So, I started to taper off the remeron. I did not realize that there was a problem with remeron and thought I had no issues going off of them. So I cut to 15 mg. on October 11 or 12. Then down to 7.5 and then to 3mg and then to 0 in two weeks. Three days after being totally off Remeron I had a reaction of not good sleep. Then I sprialed downwards into a terrible state of mind. I can't function. I have negative thoughts. Great vulnerability and anxiety. Lots of fear too.
This is how I felt in the midst of the worse of benzo withdrawal.So I either triggered a wave of benzo withdrawal or I am experience the effects of getting off remeron too fast. For two nights I went back to taking 3 mg of remeron
and last night took none. I have not felt better reinstating on the remeron for the two nights. I was advised to take 3 mg remeron every other night and then jump off by a nutritionist who has withdrawn lots of people. I have also been told to go back up on the remeron to a higher dose and stabilize there and then get off. I just don't like the weight gain.

Any advise? Any thoughts?

I would go back to a higher dose, stabilize and then wean a lot slower. It sounds like you are having withdrawal from the Remeron and it was a too fast wean. DO NOT alternate doses ... take the same amount every day. Alternating doses throws you into withdrawal every other day and there's no point to it. If you don't want to go back to 30 you could try a lower dose to start with, but 30 to 15 was a huge jump and you could just be feeling the effects of it now (sometimes withdrawal is delayed a bit). Since you have only been off a short time I think you will feel better pretty quickly once you reinstate (the 3mg wasn't enough to do anything).

How did you wean off the Valium?

I weaned off Valium too fast. I did not know to go slow. My emory is so bad I don't recall how I weaned off or how fast.. but I did. Later I found out it was too fast a taper. But, I got through it and had a wonderful window where I felt my old self. Then I tapered off the Remeron way too fast.

Dont know dosage C/T xanax and went crazy 12/06 On various benzo's and antidpressants for 5 years.Don't know which or dosage. All is a blur. Jumped off Valium 10/26/11. Benzo free. Tapered off 30 mg. to 0 remeron between 10/11/11 and 10/29. Feel horrible. Reinstated remeron 3mg every other night. Need help figuring out remeron withdrawal
