SSRI MerryGoRound

Was put on Paxil for depression/anxiety 10 years ago. Several years in, I began to have stomach/reflux issues. When I told the doctors that it occurred within 15 minutes of taking Paxil, I was told that reflux was not on the list of side effects. Well it IS now! I was put on Celexa and was ok, for a while, then it just quite working, so my doctor put me on Cymbalta. MISTAKE!!!! Talk about making someone crazy! I stayed on for a couple of months because I kept being told that it takes a while to stabilize. Then.... more later!

Re: SSRI MerryGoRound

Welcome here! Sadly, so many doctors have no clue as to what they are doing to us when they change things up like that. If you are wanting to come off the meds, you have come to the right place. Just realize that we subscribe to a far more gradual tapering that most doctors support.

Continued to slowly taper until: 09/21/12. Done!

August 2014: best month in 2014, this far; much improved from 2013.

Re: SSRI MerryGoRound

Interesting that you mention reflux I also have/still suffer this ....the connecting of the dots continues.

Welcome bookwoman62 ...are you able to put your sig up.
So are you on paxil now if not how did you taper off it or any other drug given. I'm guessing you are drug free now?
Do you know about the rec taper here of 10% per 3-6 weeks.
