Back Again
After so many failed attempts at getting off this evil drug, I went back up to 20mg until I stabilized. Being under stress does not help, but I am not in a position (job related) to do anything about that. I went from 20 mg to 17.5 mg for six weeks. Then to 15 mg for about a month or so, then to 12.5 for about another six weeks and three days ago went to 10mg. My next appt with my Dr is next week and I intend to ask for the liquid so I can get through the last 10mg more easily. I started taken the 10mg on Friday night and have had no physical symptoms, but more anxiety and depression. This time I am going to try to fight through it rather than go back up. I will stay at the 10 until I feel ready and then reduce slowly with the liquid. I have a number of business related functions coming up and cannot afford to be "out of it" so I am going to be very careful. I just want to be able to laugh again, the crying comes with the withdrawal.

Welcome back! I remember your posts when you were here before. I really understand what you mean about not being able to do much re. the stress in your life. I am in the same boat - stressful work life and my sister is going through withdrawal related issues too which is hard to witness. But I am determined to start my taper again as well despite these challenges. I am glad you are back and posting. Good luck with everything!

2006 60 mg Cymbalta; off 3/07 7/07 ?delayed w/d? terrible anxiety, insomnia. 10/07 Zoloft and Klonopin tapered Klonopin 6/09 Start tapering 100 mg Zoloft 11/13/10 33 mg - updose 54 mg; 5% cuts: 2/12 37.5 - stressful time, lots of withdrawal sx - waited out for 2+ months but kept getting worse. ?poopout? Tried updosing but made things worse. 7/12 Attempting cross over from Zoloft to Celexa. Now at 35 mg Zoloft, 20 mg Celexa. Also on 1 mg Klonopin since 6/12.

I just cant do this anymore. I make a good living and have not been able to enjoy anything for the last two years including the birth of two grandsons. I am just miserable not being able to smile, laugh, and look forward to anything.

I am really hoping and praying that the lack of physical symptoms is a good sign and the depression will pass quickly so I can stabilize and move onto the next level. The depression hit me yesterday like a ton of bricks and can't wait for the work day to be over so I can go lay down. At least no zaps, tingling, etc so far. Just some spots in my eyes when I am in the sun.

8 months: 10mg Lexapro 12 months: 20mg 12/14/09: 10mg for 2 weeks 01/01/10-03/23/10: 5mg 03/24/10-04/19/10: nothing  Experienced bad withdrawal, so decided to reinstate and taper 04/20/10: Reinstated 5mg for 2 weeks 05/06/10: 4.5mg 06/03/10: 4mg 07/26/10: 3.6mg 09/06/10: 3.4mg 11/10/10: 3.1mg (No major withdrawal symptoms below this dose) Continued to taper 10% every 3 weeks... 06/15/11: Reached 0.9mg 07/05/11: 0.8mg 07/27/11: 0.7mg 08/16/11: Off Lexapro! |

Well I am now on week 2 on 10 mg. I did not get zaps or the tingling I got the last time. Only symptom was worsening of depression which I guess is normal. My Dr. is very good, and now we have agreed that after about a month I will go on the liquid Paxil. It is a difficult road, but this time I am not turning back. Even with the slight drop, I felt a little more alive. I am hoping that 2013 will be the first year in a long time of being Paxil free.
