Define being stable...
What does being stable mean to you all? Since I never had to go back and stabilize on Paxil I really don't know what that means. I know what it means to feel crappy and have all those symptoms with paxil withdrawal. I don't think that being stable means being symptom free, right?

Re: Define being stable...
You're correct. Stable, especially if you're in tolerance (poop out) doesn't necessarily mean symptom free. However, you should feel somewhat decent enough, and confident enough to taper.

Re: Define being stable...
Good question! Something am always wondering about!
I waited for 11weeks and had 1 good day and dropped. Not even sure 1 day is long enought to wait! ANyway, I survived. I am in the same boat again now. In week 11 and not sure whether to drop at the end of this week or not.

Re: Define being stable...
I think it's probably different for everyone - not a helpful answer, but true!
For me, it's feeling like I have a little calm area inside - a sense of inner strength. Even if it's fleeting, comes and goes, or is very small, it's a distinct feeling that I can handle things again, that I'm not just treading water. It certainly isn't being 'symptom free', but it IS related to any of the more severe symptoms I might experience a few days after a drop having settled down to a manageable roar. I suppose I'm lucky that I do have a kind of pattern - many don't.

Re: Define being stable...
Does that mean that just 1 day of feeling "stable" is sufficient and then taper?

Re: Define being stable...
For me it means no new symptoms and a distinct lessening of the regular ones.

Re: Define being stable...
Thanks guys, these tips have been very helpful for me. I just re-read them, and thought that one about feeling "confident" is a good one too.

Re: Define being stable...
For me being stable is having that confident feeling for at least week. Not that feeling of "at any moment I may become scared, frightened, lose my mind" etc. But I wouldn't classify 1 good day as stable. I'd wait at least a week of feeling pretty good.
