Any special preparation before consuming liquid zoloft?

Hey all, I just read the side of the box on the liquid Zoloft and it says I have to dilute it before use. I've just been using a tb syringe to measure out 90 and mixing it with oj. I don't have to shake the contents of the bottle or anything special before jumping into using it do I? I hope I'm not taking more or less what I'm measuring out to be 90. Thanks for any help

bump, would like someone's input on using liquid. I felt I could taste the solution more at the top when I was mixing it with oj, and now as I'm getting closer to the bottom it's not as much. Do I have to shake the bottle or something so it's evenly distributed? I'm worried I'm not getting the same dose everyday..

I would shake it, can't hurt. I don;'t use liquid so I don't really know for sure...

The liquid Paxil is a suspension which is why it has to be shaken. From what I can gather the liquid Zoloft is a liquid concentrate so it has to be diluted, but does not have to be shaken. Basically, if it had to be shaken it would say so somewhere on the label. Here are the instructions from Drugs.com:

"The liquid form of Zoloft must be diluted before you take it. To be sure you get the correct dose, measure the liquid with the medicine dropper provided. Mix the dose with 4 ounces (one-half cup) of water, ginger ale, lemon/lime soda, lemonade, or orange juice. Do not use any other liquids to dilute the medicine. Stir this mixture and drink all of it right away. To make sure you get the entire dose, add a little more water to the same glass, swirl gently and drink right away."

If this is what you are doing, then you are doing it right.

I feel stupid asking this, but diluted just simply means mixing it with the orange juice right? No other special preparation before taking it, are there any current liquid zoloft users on here that can chime in on how they do it? Thanks for the replies.

Mix it with anything, but not grapefruit juice.

I tried liquid Zoloft and hated it--tasted awful, burned my mouth, and too much of a pain to get the exact dose.

I highly recommend going to a pharmacy that compounds--started it a few days ago, and it's much easier/accurate.
