Dr. Gary Kohls, MD

Hey guys,

I found this a few months back, and without a doubt, he is the best doctor I have ever come across.

I attribute my decision to finally come off of SSRIs to him and the information he gives in these clips.

Enjoy (if you haven't heard of him already)!

Dr. Kendal Stewart is also another very good MD, and explains some of the reasons why we have neuroimmune syndromes. Here are some good videos if you know of someone with autism, add, etc.

You always seem to doubt the healing power of nutrition, did you watch any of the videos on that link I posted?

I didn't post that link to show what hyperbaric oxygen can do, it goes into the methylation processes that a lot of us are genetically predisposed to.

Do you know how hyperbaric works? Sorry, but I feel like anything ever mentioned in this forum about alternative medicine because it's not mass-marketed like chemotherapy and radiation, gets shot down immediately. Let's have an open mind

Yes, I do have knowledge of hyperbaric, having worked in a field that uses hyperbaric every day. Do you know that hyperbaric has never been proven to do anything for cancer, that insurance won't pay for it, that the FDA has found that it does nothing for cancer and that it's the biggest scam out there? Yes, I have seen people who have paid out of pocket for this scam and opted to not do chemo, and they were broke and dead in a very short time.

Feel free to spend your money on this stuff, but I will always be the voice of reason when it comes to quack, unproven and potentially dangerous therapies.

Re: Dr. Gary Kohls, MD

I never posted that link to explain what hyperbaric does for cancer, that was a post about neuroimmune disorders, and the FDA is in bed with big pharma so using them as a reference will do nothing to sway my opinion on the original post. (which was not about hyperbaric oxygen). Never even mentioned that I was about to tackle all of my mental problems with hyperbaric either.

No offense taken. But why exactly do you think he sounds like a quack?

I'll admit that at times he goes too far, but for the most part, I think he's right on the money.

Re: Dr. Gary Kohls, MD

i think there are many great alternative medicine doctors out there and many treatments that work. At the same time, there are a lot of quacks and I have had my share of quacks but that doesnt keep me from believing in alternative therapies. Its all a big mess out there regarding medicine and its easy to get caught up with quacks. With that said, I support this doc and he is a big supporter of Robert Whitaker.

Very true, the quacks in alt medicine always shine greater than the good ones.

I agree, but it is also difficult to figure out what really works and what doesn't (in both conventional and alternative medicine). Some of the quacks may be genuine people who really believe in something that doesn't work. There needs to be good research done into the alternative treatments, which can be difficult to obtain because it takes a lot of time and money. I have no faith in the FDA or Big Pharma, who are invested in maintaining the status quo. We've all read how Pharma manipulate research and its results. When you are looking at cancer statistics, for example, the statistics reported will be skewed a certain way by whichever side is arguing at the time. For example, people will be reported as having survived because they lived another 6 months (I mean, big deal, that isn't exactly cured, is it). I think there is also a tendency for some of the alternative health people to claim that whatever they've discovered fixes everything from cancer to ingrown toenails.

When I think about the FDA I think about the former commissioner Dr. Herbert Ley who said, "The thing that bugs me is that people think the FDA is protecting them. It isn't. What the FDA is doing and what the public thinks it's doing are as different as night and day."
