PAWS
Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome is a set of symptoms that addicts experience after drug cessation and during the recovery period. Paxil withdrawals induced all the symptoms of PAWS in me plus a few added effects like shocks and hallucinations. I hope understanding the process will help others cope with the symptoms, there are exceptions but most people return to their normal selves. SSRI withdrawal seems to have a much longer time frame than most hard drugs, at least it did for me. And I'll never again buy the line that SSRI's aren't addictive, I experienced the addiction, as did many if not all others on this site.
Here's a website that explains PAWS: http://www.squidoo.com/post-acute-withdrawal-syndrome |
