Anyone can advice me on Inositol?

I wanna try inositol. I read a lot of goods about it. Is anyone currently on it? Or has been on it?

My DP/DR is killing me. Its like nothing is real and my brain can shut down any moment (like cotton in my head). And when i look to my own body i am so scared cause it feels like its not my body,..or that my body is a different object then me.
I hope someone can help me aswer one or more of these questions:

1.) Did inositol help anyone with this DP/DR or brainfog???
2.) Do you need to take inositol together with choline in order to have it work?
3.) Who knows a good brand name (please pm me if so;..no brand names allowed on this forum i think)
4.) My CNS is hotwired,..i feel shots of adrenalin every 5 mins all day long. And the doc confirmed this week that i have paresthesia. I feel like i am in boiling water all day long. Doesnt really hurt, but annoying as hell. Now i dont wanna take something that energizes me. But i read inositol is also good against anxiety,..so it cant be to energeticm, can it?. I will off course start with a low amount
5.) I hope its not as risky as st john wort or 5htp and can send me to the ER if it fails (i read some horror stories on this forum)

I will speak to a psychiatrist this week about starting a ssri. Its an obligatory conversation from my company doctor.. Starting paxil is a to big of risk i think, but perhaps prozac. That seems a valid option i must admit. Offcourse i prefer not to start with ssri, i am trying to hang in there, but i am in so much physical and mental pain for 8 months now;..something has gotta give. Still i try to wait with drugs and hang in there,..just let time pass. I am saying this cause perhaps its smart to try a supplement. Even if its a bit more risky; it cant be as bad as an ssri, can it? If it goes bad it can only increase my anxiety correct? Not that i can go to the ER or something?

BIG thanks for your time and effort in reading this

Re: Anyone can advice me on Inositol?

We've had a few members who have tried and it and there are some threads about it. Most said it didn't do anything, one way or the other. A few liked it, so as always...it's an individual thing.

You dont know of anyone who really tripped on it and got so bad that he had to go to the hospitol, laurie? You think its safer then st johns worth and 5htp?

Re: Anyone can advice me on Inositol?

Nope, no one I ever remember had a bad experience with it. Again, most said it didn't do anything.

I've never taken any of them, so I don't have a personal opinion. I will say, I've seen plenty of threads from people who have had bad experiences with St. Johns and 5htp, none with Inositol.

Thanks, that reassures me. I thought i read somewhere you took inositol, but it didnt do anything for you. I must have misread.
Thanks for your response laurie :-)

I will wait for more people to react. So i can get all the questions i asked, answered. But so far so good.
Funny thing is i just to bodybuild. And i would swallow any supplement i thought would work. CLA, TLA, etc etc etc. but now in WD i am already scared of vitamin C hahaha. Off course a bit cause of my original anxiety disorder. But also cause i noticed i am hypersensitive in WD

Re: Anyone can advice me on Inositol?

No, I was going to try it, but never did after reading what others here said. Or, If I did, I don't remember; that oughta tell you something! I was going to try magnesium too, never did.

I bought it,..havent started yet.

On that one day i started with specialized fishoil, vit D, choline, inositol and acupuncture. Next day i had lots of anxiety. Now that can be a coinsedence of course,..but to be sure i am gonna start them 1 by 1 so i can tell when something is backfiring. I have now started the fishoil, after 2 weeks i will add the inositol. I will keep you up to date as brainfog/dp is also one of my symptoms.

Re: Anyone can advice me on Inositol?

Hi Bilo,

I came across an awesome supplement called twin lab amino fuel.
Basically it contains all the essential and non-essential amino acids.
It also has stress b-complex vitamins, inositol,PABA,folate,TRYPTOPHAN etc.

It is used by body builders, but i got great benefit from it.
You can try either this or any other supplement having these aminos.

Take this and magnesium citrate every morning on empty stomach.
In 3 weeks,i am hopeful you will never have to think of any drug or anything else.
Give this formula a try.Instead of spending money on individual supplements, buy this one which contains everything.

Re: Anyone can advice me on Inositol?

I tried Inositol and it seemed to make me sleepy or tired.....BUT anxiety is not really and has never been an issue with me so it may calm you the way you need it...I think I just didn't NEED it because I never had anxiety....

Re: Anyone can advice me on Inositol?

made me sleepy, didn't like that effect. It might be great for insomniacs. For anxiety I don't think it helped.
