Can I stop cold turkey after taking 10mg paxil for 3 days

Just wanted to know if it would be safe to stop taking after 3 daily doses of 10mg cold turkey?

Also want to say that I am really struggling with depression, anxiety, confusion, which is why I started taking this. When I stop my family will be so disappointed but I don't want to be numb and forever dependent on a medication.

Yes, after 3 doses you can just stop. Count yourself lucky that you realized what you were getting into! Do you know studies have shown that therapy is just as effective as medication in treating depression? There's no need to alter your brain and numb your emotions in order to feel better.

Good choice! Yes you can just stop after only 3 doses. For anxiety, look into books and recordings by Dr. Claire Weekes. An interesting book is 'Healing Without Freud or Prozac' by David Servan-Schreiber. He looks at alternatives to meds and talk therapy, such as exercise, light therapy, fish oil, etc. There are lots of other options, you will find heaps if you start looking. Everything doesn't work for everyone, so you might have to try a few things to find what works for you.

Congratulations deciding to quit before Paxil had a chance to alter your brain. Give your self a pat on the back for that.

Please tell us: How bad are your anxiety symptoms? how long have you been anxious? Is there any specific cause you are aware of? Have you tried any other ways of dealing with these symptoms? Perhaps someone here can make a suggestion that will help you.
Started Paxil 10mg on 29 Nov. 2011. Began slow taper in Feb. 2012. Took final dose on 26 June 2013.

Started Valium 2mg in Feb. 2012. Began reducing dosage in May 2012. Took final dose on 26 June 2013. Now fully recovered.... sort of!
