Has anybody else had this ?

Hi all. I have been off Paxil for about seven weeks. About two weeks ago I got another wave of withrawal and along with it some pretty severe knee pain. I mean, I can hardly walk. I didn't do anything to injure it and have been thinking it was Paxil related. I have other minor joint pain. But I am starting to wonder if this is something else. It doesn't get any better or worse. This is depressing me as much as withdrawal. I hope someone has had something similar to give me hope that this will end.

ThanQ

Rosemary

While I can't say that this isn't from Paxil, I would see a medical doctor to have the knee looked at. Could be arthritis, torn cartilage, etc..... I know we all want to blame paxil for everything, but in your case I would have the knee looked at.

My similar experience was with my shoulder. quite a few months after withdrawal i started getting pain in my right shoulder. it lasted several months and got severe including numbness in my hand and the arm was pretty useless. I had xrays, MRI and saw Drs, and even a neurologist.

turned out to be completely depleted magnesium. magnesium not helping to uptake calcium. calcium settling into muscles and causing cramps and pain. lack of magnesium continuing the stress in the brain and not releasing muscles. Now i take mg daily, i get massage therapy, trigger point therapy and will be having a VERY new alternative therapy next friday that is supposed to help reset the brain to release the muscle spasms.

build up of calcium in the joints can cause pain too.

Thank you guys for your replys. This is really strange. Last night before I went to bed it seemed to be feeling some better. Today, as fast as it came, it is almost back to normal. Almost a week ago I started taking magnesium. For a couple days I took 750 mg but that seemed too much because I got the (ahem) runs. So I backed off on it, but I wonder if I would be able to see such a difference so soon. Whatever it is I am not complaining. Just hope it doesn't get bad again.

my shoulder took maybe 2 weeks to level out. it was good for a month or two....now its coming back but i think its due to stress and my relapse.

and dare i say it could be just a misfire in the brain and that there are therapies that could help but its a futile suggestion.

My neck hurt like hell all throughout and I lost motor control in the knee area on a few occasions. I was at a photocopier one day and just suddenly found myself on the floor. These types of things happen in Paxil withdrawal.
