Went off of Paxil last week and wondering what to expect

I just weened myself off of Paxil with the help of a doctor and was Paxil free as of last Wednesday. I just found this bulletin board and knew that I could get some good info from here.

I had some specific questions.

How long does the "withdrawal last"

Can you start another drug (Wellbutrin) when you are just off of Paxil?

Is there any way to alleviate the withdrawal symptoms?

I had a 3 week lead time for my body to accept Paxil 2 years ago. Is it going to be a similar weening period for my body to let go?

This is the first I really know about these withdrawals. I didn't' receive any inclination from my doctors. I went off of Paxil because I too was having problems with weight loss and I just got so frustrated that I finally went off and am considering Wellbutrin based on my shrinks' recommendation.

Any thoughts or comments that can help make this easier for me.

Why do you want to go on another SSRI? Do some research on this site and others specifically about SSRIs and then decide if your brain and body really need these types of drugs.
