Beverly!!! Have you ever heard of EMDR?

Beverly,

I'm using the EFT a bit but thought it would be helpful to get some one on one type help. I've talked a social worker before who does EMDR and am thinking about seeing her. This is for trauma type work, a bit different process than the EFT. Just wondering if you have ever heard of it.

I've also made an appointment with a natural pathic doc to do some tests,
Hormone tests, Yeast tests, nutritional profile, etc... To find out where I am. This same doc does do NMT (is that right?) the muscle work. But I think he is relatively new at it.

Keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm tired of being sick and tired....

Blessings,
Darlene

hi darlene

How'd you know i would know about EMDR?
My shrink i saw for over 2 years specialized in it. it was pretty cool. very much like EFT and NMT in a sense in that its pretty successful in neutralizing emotinal stuff. sometimes we would do emdr sessions and soemtimes i wouldnt be physically up to it. It goes really quickly to overcome the emotional issue but its was also a little physically taxing.

She did it with a headphone set that beeped. from left side to right side.
and there were little plastic paddles that went in either hand and would buzz on the same side the headphone would beep. so its bi-lateral brain stimulation while you think about the problem. Same as EFT...we would set up the problem verbally and then quantify how upsetting it was on a scale of one to ten. then start the emdr thing and think about the problem and then when we stopped the machine we re-quantify it.

it was fairly succcessful but it got very difficult when i started my withdrawal. then things got weird with the shrink and i stopped seeing her.

anyway...its another very interesting new technique being done and i found it to be fairly successful. worth trying out!!

Cool thanks,

I think I will even take the EFT CD's that you sent me and see if she might want to check them out too. Maybe it can help someone else.

I new that you would probably know about the EMDR since it was sorta similar to the EFT and NMT. Didn't know though that you had tried it.

We will see how it goes. Hopefully I will have more success this time, cause, like you, when I tried it before I was so full blown out of it tense and not in control that I don't think I could even access my feelings etc.

See ya,
Darlene
