Head weirdness

Darren here.

Today marks 8 days since off of Paxil and today I experienced weird beating in my inner ear (feels like a heartbeat) which then made me kinda dizzy.

Otherwise I am feeling good. Is this the beginning of brain zaps? Cause it does feel deep within the ear and in the brain -- since it is all connected. It is only in my left side though.

These would come and go periodically during the day and would last about 30 seconds.

Sound familiar to anyone??????

Yeah.....My hearing is screwed.....

Along with all my other senses.

My vision sucks

If the sun shines through the window and hits me........I feels weird.....Real intense.

Sometime It feels like the sun is shining on diff parts of my body when it's not.....(Hot Spots)

I get strange tastes in my mouth.

All of this can make you feel as if if gone completely NUTS...

Just got to keep telling myself what it really is.

Would Benadryl help with these problems? Give it a try. Some people on another web site reported relief with taking this stuff.

This is so wierd... I was just telling someone today that when I layed my head down to sleep last night I heard a noise...like someone walking in snow.... squeek kind of sound...

Now I'm vindicated.

god no benadryl please... that stuff makes me so groggy when i wake up. i notice since i have been off paxil i cant even sleep when i take ambien... while on the paxil...i was taking ambien and i could at least get a good 6 hours.... now.. i dont go to sleep until 1am and i am up every few hours.

i guess the ear sounds must have something to do with the brain normaling itself after the brain altering the paxil did.

DAMN PAXIL!

sometimes i am bad and i take 2 gravol before bed to help me sleep..or i will be up until 4 am watching the clock...

yes the noise must be the brain trying to get back to normal the less paxil it gets...

yeah ambien is a hypnotiv-sedative sleeping aid... has the shortest half life of all sleeping aids... and is (suppposedly) not addictive.

ive been on it since mid-April....when my anxiety/depression first started... weening off now... but the lower dosage doesnt have any effect on me for about a week now... i wonder if i should go back up in dose so i can sleep tonight.

benadryl makes some people really wired including rapid heart rate.. my mom can't even take it. The only time ive taken it in the last 15 years is when I had a reaction to a penicillin antibiotic that made my face turn beat red and itch.

As for your symptom darren, anything is possible with this. I dont think it's zaps because youve been off the drug for over a week and werent on it that long. Zaps feel like a jolt in your head when you move your eyes.

mich, we must be the same person.... i feel like i will never, ever sleep the way i used to.

i wake up not feeling rested... although my body feels relatively okay... my head drags.

sometimes i felt like i had some serious sleep disorder... like i am not getting any deep stage 4 sleep.

you might check out this site about sleep.

http://www.sleepnet.com

good forums to read and post.

i am drinking some "surrender to sleep" tea right now... chamomile, valerian root, lavendar, lemon balm.... no caffeine obviously.

darren are you taking magnesium at night? at least 400mg? this may also help you relax to sleep.. i'd have to stop it to see what it's doing for me, which I don't plan on doing.

Yeh, I am joining you guys. Haven't been sleeping well for about 2 months and nightmares. Last night I fell asleep on the couch at 8 pm and woke up at 4.30 am. Went to sleep again at 5.am and slept until 11.00 am. I could sleep like sleeping beauty, 100 years, without waking up rested. It ain't easy.
