wondering!!

hey all,

hope everyone is progressing in a good way.

im doing pretty well. been off now for 5 weeks. wondering if being light-headed and having screwy vision is a withdrawal that can occur 5 weeks after being on the drug for only 2.5 months. i also still have pain in hands when i wake in the morning... and every morning.

and when do i start losing weight????? arrrggghhhhh!!!

nice new update to the site!!

darren

Screwy vision after 5 weeks is not unheard of, but it should start going away soon. As far as hand pain in the morning, would that coincide with the change seasons?

the thing is darcy, i never had the screwy vision/light-headedness when i first got off paxil... in fact for four weeks i felt good.... just this week. but i did have this when i was on paxil.

it is alot of pressure in my temple region... and it is not sinus infection.

maybe lack of sleep.

Darren, nice to see you here. Sounds for the most part that things have been going well for you, that is great. Keep it up, give yourself time to get back to 100%. Keep well.

I have now prepared myself for layers of withdrawal. I was ok tapering but 5 weeks Serzone-free, is when the horrible nerve stuff hit...just give yourself time with each "stage" you will be fine.

maybe some people get the nausea and dizzyness right away..and then maybe others get a delayed reaction and have it later..

Withdrawal come and goes in waves. You can feel fine for 3 months and then wham...have a day that feels like you just began withdrawing again.

Don't analyze todays.

Look over your shoulder at the gentle wash towards good days. It will leave you feeling calmer so you don't become a hypo hippo.

weight

Darren, my nervous system is a bit screwy a year off paxil. I've been seeing a chiropractor and he says he can see from the way my spine is that there are areas of toxicity still present. (?). As far as the weight, 14 months ago I was about 130 lbs. Now I'm 108 and losing. Not exercising. After several months the weight just seemed to fall off. But i think paxil is stored in fat, so with the weight loss you can get some symptoms again. the dizziness hasn't cleared up yet for me.

Put on Paxil in 1996 for Post-partum depression. After 5th withdrawal attempt, went into severe debilitating withdrawal, restarted Paxil in the ER which didn't work anymore. Taken off again quickly by a shrink, started on Lexapro. Body rejected all drugs except benzos. Currently off all drugs. Not quite 100% yet, but working towards getting there.

Darren,

We love you anyway, hypochondriac and all! LOL

My suggestion?

As depressing as this may sound. By the bigger clothes. I resisted for months, but realized that I got more depressed fitting into my tighter clothes than when I put on my new larger clothes. They fit better and l look better. The weight will come off when I am ready.

Take care,

Darren,

This may be a totally inappropriate question, and I apologise if it is, but do you exercise?

I gradually grew from about 90 kg before my crisis, 84 in my crisis (5 years ago), to almost 100 kg on paxil. I exercised lightly for about 3 years with no weight loss effect at all. But then I started karate two years ago, and got real fanatic at it, and I gradually got down to 89 kg again! I also find it easier to say no to cookies and pie and chocolate and junkfood when I exercise.

During my (failed) withdrawal attempts last summer and this summer I gained a little weight back though....

Again, sorry if this was inappropriate, I just want to share what worked for me.

BTW, where's that nice pic you had?

Eppe.
