Re: permanent ////

man it isn't permanent... I began my paxil taper 18 months ago, did it in 3 months of hell and i'm still hooked on a tiny fraction of ssri's... If it wasn't for this board I'd be convinced i'm permanently damaged because it's been so long.

Dave....ITS NOT PERMANENT.......long lived perhaps.....but man...you gotta relax. listen to some workingman's dead. some Reckoning. Something mellow.
Try your best to not get more stressed and more dizzy.

but its NOT going to necessarily be gone tomorrow or the next day.
But it will go away over time. I promise you this.

Dave, don't you go and give up!! Ryan had symptoms for 9 months after he stopped paxil. You in the middle if this crap! Hang with it. It does get better, but yes we all know how frustrating it is to have it take so long.

Dave, it is a long haul, but a journey well worth taking. Those days before the paxil are within your reach. You just can't give up.

Why is it you cannot see your children?

Re: permanent ////

It's been 7 months since I took my last Paxil.

I stilll have dizziness daily........but the waves are getting shorter.

I still have a lot of symptoms...........but they are subsiding very agonizingly slow.

Like I said........go get a physical and have your ears checked out and allergy testing.

You might have withdrawal along with some inner ear stuff or allergies...........the older we get the more of these things can happen.

But theres no sense to suffer if there are ailments that you can cure.

I mean........I would........what's it gonna hurt.....

At least you can rule out some things.

ALSO:......So many SSRI withdrawees have used BENADRYL and/or DRAMMAINE to ease the dizziness and those type symptoms.,,,,,,,,,..it's worth a try.

Just so you guys don't sorry too much, I talked to Dave. He's OK, just going through that nasty part of withdrawal, when you think it's gone and it rears it's ugly head again! Hang with us Dave!!

Re: permanent ////

Dave,

Try to put your mind at ease. I KNOW it's terribly difficult. I'm telling you, month 6 was my WORST month. I HAD to see a neurologist. I've been examined, quite throughly, just for my own peace of mind and because I TOO thought the damage had to be permanent. I'll get my results Feb. 22nd. I pray everything is okay, but after the worst of it, it seems to be getting a bit better. We're all on different schedules. Have you tried any anti-nausea meds? Does something like dramamine or bonine make a dent in the dizziness and nausea? If you haven't tried them, perhaps they can help. Both are given to those with motion sickness. I've even worn a "patch," for motion sickness, behind my ear because I was so bad off. I know it's hell. Hang on, for the sake of you and your family. Think of them now. I know you love them. The thought of leaving my husband, stepdaughter and family behind to deal, with the aftermath and stigma, of my suicide, was THE ONLY thing that kept me here. That and this site. Please try to hang on.

-Shea
