Positive Six Months Out Update

Hello all! I hope everyone’s doing well on their journeys.

I stopped coming around here as often because, honestly, I started to think it was impeding my progress. Hearing some brutal horror stories...

Re: Birth Control and Anxiety

Under my GP's supervision, I've been taken off Yaz, as my blood pressure had made a pretty big jump up from where it normally is (which could be due to a hundred things but regardless...). It's been...

Re: the dreaded weight gain!

I have heard several instances of doctors giving anorexia patients antidepressants under false pretenses, kind of proving that there is more evidence than we realize that these drugs DO in fact cause...

Re: Abilify...Are you kidding me?

My favorite part of the AD commercials is the "side effects may include headache and nausea" so nonchalantly. I did see one recently, I think it was for Cymbalta maybe, that did include "dizziness...

Re: Caffiene and SSRI Recovery

Honestly, my caffeine tolerance got better during withdrawal than it was while I was on Celexa/Lexapro. I couldn't have more than a normal sized soda a day without getting all nervous and jittery....

Re: Mono & Anxiety?

I'm not sure what sort of situation I'm in. I have the Epstein-Barr virus, as I've tested positive for the antibodies for it I guess, although I've never had mono. The situation seems to be I was...

Re: Intense Hunger/Feeling Faint and Weak

This is EXACTLY what I've been trying to explain to my GP for the past month. It really does make me seem like a crazy person insisting that "the medication I was on is doing something that makes me...

Re: tension

During my entire Celexa withdrawal, I had the same "forehead in knots" feeling you describe. Also, I would get these TERRIBLE pain in the area where the back of my head meets the neck, almost so bad...

What's the consensus on exercise post-withdrawal?

Today I felt so antsy that I went to the gym, jogged for over a half hour, then did a generous amount of lifting on a majority of the strength machines. I must say I feel...fantastic. I have had...

Re: Imitrex

I honestly don't know. I guess technically it would depend on the pharmacology of Paxil, how long it stays chemically in your system and whatnot. And that I really don't know.

I know I waited a good...

Re: Imitrex

I was prescribed it too, let me say, it worked WONDERS in my life before I was on SSRIs, but of course, I was terrified to try it while I was on and now after I'm off SSRIs. I don't know what sort of...

Re: Intense Hunger/Feeling Faint and Weak

I also think it may have something to do with my water intake. Since quitting, I have been drinking roughly 15-20 cups of water a day, not including anything else I'd be drinking, which I was told to...

Re: Intense Hunger/Feeling Faint and Weak

Sort of, but not to this degree. I really am hoping this is just my newly-released anxiety manifesting itself in this awful way...

Re: Intense Hunger/Feeling Faint and Weak

I'd MUCH rather it be anxiety than anything serious! Definitely worth investing in a blood sugar meter, I may very well pick one up tomorrow. Regardless, I'm going to try "breathing through" my next...

Re: Intense Hunger/Feeling Faint and Weak

I went from 20mg to nothing over 5 weeks back in December/January, which was (of course) what my psychiatrist told me.

That's the amount my body has needed lately to feel satisfied, and yes, I...

Intense Hunger/Feeling Faint and Weak

Hello all. If you've been following some of my posts, you'll know I've been off of Celexa for 8 weeks as of Tuesday. I had REALLY hoped I'd be feeling "back to normal" at this point, but it seems...

Re: Withdrawal and weight loss/nausea

This must be a Paxil-related thing as I, now 2 months off of Celexa, have an absolutely ravenous appetite. I lost a little weight initially, but I'm fairly sure I've put it back on.

Re: My life just changed dramatically.

I wonder, could this work for physical withdrawal symptoms? Sorry if this has been made clear and I've missed it. I know it's a way to deal with things like "I'm angry" or "I'm anxious", but what...

Re: When wrong with my "area below"

You may be experiencing some post-SSRI sexual dysfunction, which is, unfortunately, relatively common.

Re: My life just changed dramatically.

I'm almost reluctant to try this now. On the one hand, there's Ray insisting that it's a brilliant program that worked for him, but on the other, there are several others of you are insisting that it...

Re: Celexa - Quick taper, four week mark and after

Ugh, I don't know what to do. I'm so angry. My doctor prescribed me some fluconazole to take care of an infection I've had for a while, and I feel like it's completely thrown off all the progress...

Re: Serotonin Power Diet

Well, my doctor told me that I "should maybe take a pregnancy test" when I told her I'd gained ten pounds in the month after starting Celexa, insinuating it did not cause weight gain, even though I...

Serotonin Power Diet

Has anybody heard of this before? I just discovered it while doing some searching. I've suffered from the most insatiable hunger since starting Lexapro a year ago,...

Re: Need some info on whether to take an AD or not

I can safely say I wish I could have seen this website before I ever tried an SSRI and really saw the severity of some people's reactions and withdrawals. I'm currently withdrawing from my second...
