Sooooo tired

I have been so tired I can sleep until noon, take a nap an hour later... and honestly, feel like I could sleep 24/7. I feel like I'm wasting days away, but I am soooooooooooo tired and feel kinda weak.

Anyone else deal with this while tapering???

Re: Sooooo tired

Yep! I had a point in my taper when I'd literally be in the middle of dinner and just couldn't keep my eyes open and have to go lie down. It was weird, but it passed.

Re: Sooooo tired

I'm more tired than I've ever been in my life, but it's because I've had insomnia for months. I started having a lot of trouble sleeping during my taper (the last 10 mg. or so), but it got much worse after I stopped Paxil. Sometimes I can be so tired that I doze off in front of the TV at night. But then I get up and go to bed and can't get to sleep. It's frustrating beyond belief. I can't remember the last time I slept 8 or more hrs. and woke feeling rested.

Hi Trixie,

Did you get diagnosed with the Fibro/Chronic Fatigue after you started paxil?

I'm just asking because I too have had the same diagnosis from a Rheumatologist - after 8 years on pax I got the diagnosis. My psychiatrist has told me that she doesn't believe that I truly have fibro and that it was caused by the paxil and that as time progresses off paxil, I will see the symptoms of that improve.

Do you take anything for your fibro? i've been offered everything under the sun, but just dealt with the pain and fatigue as best i could (been offered: Amitriptaline, lyrica, gabapentin, empracet, etc). Stayed away from all of them.

I sleep a lot too now. The way I see it, the more i'm asleep, the more my brain has a chance to heal from paxhell :P

Re: Sooooo tired

Yes I am tired 24/7 which I think is because I never reach full sleep. Your body is healing for sure and just needs the rest. You are in my prayers!

Re: Sooooo tired

Yes, I was diagnosed before paxil. The main reason I went on is because I had migraines at least 3 times a week that nothing helped - and I mean nothing, as I tried just about everything else first. So they said try paxil, and it might help the fibro/CFS too. I had mono in high school, and that virus will always be dormant in my body (will be in anyone that's had mono), and after that my health really went downhill, so I'm pretty sure mono has a lot to do with the onset of my fibro/CFS.

Looking back, I actually think my health got worse after I started taking paxil and that the fibro, but especially the CFS got worse. I could be wrong, but it just seems like it. I never correlated any of my symptoms with paxil side effects before now because I just that it was fibro/CFS, but I'm not so sure any more. I don't know that I'll ever really know for sure though.

Re: Sooooo tired

Oh, and no I don't take anything for my fibro. I was too scared of all other drugs. And I refuse to take a narcotic for the pain. I go to the chiropractor, get massages, and going gluten free helped some too.
