Scary thought

I have never been into illegal drugs which is a main reason I chose an SSRI to begin with but from playing guitar for so long have met my fair share of addicts through the years and a few that have recovered and were kind enough to share there stories.

The scary thought for me is the 2 guys I talked to (seperatly) which were long ago herion and meth users. What scares me is hearing them explain there post detox withdrawals and how simular there experiences are to mine/ours.

I have no doubt that our brains are in the same state as theres after coming off there drugs.

I can for sure say it is eye opening. I have to admit I was ignorant in the matter. I only had experience with drug addiction through tv shows and stories and had always assumed that when users got back on there drugs they were weak. I had the impression that they got out of detox and were fine but now have a totally different out look on what a user goes through and how they get there.

One thing I am glad that we don't seem to have to deal with is addiction. I can't speak for everyone of course but I have never felt an urge to take an SSRI like a illegal drug user has described so I am thankful that at least I don't have that mountain to climb.

So very true! Kuddos in seeing the positive, that we don't have to deal with the addiction! Sometimes it's hard to see the positive. The fact that you can is awesome!
zoloft 2004-08 tapered too fast, severe WD-6 mos out hospitialized and restarted on ssri. Finally learned the problems were from WD.

So true
2 Timothy 1:7: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

2005-2010 Effexor XR 112.5mg-262.5mg for PPD
June-Dec 2010 Poop-out (crash)
3 month cross taper off Effexor onto 40mg Cipralex, switched to 20mg Celexa, switched to 20mg Paxil
Nothing helped except waiting 7 months to stabilize on Paxil then starting to taper:
Oct'11 to Nov '12 20mg-10mg
March'13 to Feb'14 9mg -4mg
Feb 7/14-4.0mg
April 1/14-3.6mg
