Urge to run and escape "something." Afraid of sleepwalking...

For the past couple of weeks, every time I wake up in the middle of the night I feel this energy, which is an urge to get out of bed and run and my mind literally tells me that I have to escape "something." I ignore it and fall back asleep. I'm so afraid that I might go out sleepwalking like a mad woman. I wake up my husband every time I wake up in the evening just in case...maybe I should put something noisy on the bedroom door handle in case I start sleepwalking my husband can hear it.

Can anyone relate? I had this very briefly in acute withdrawal, but now it's an every night thing and I'm afraid It stays with me for a short while in the morning.

I domt have the urge to run but I wake up in sheer terror. I'm the kind of peson who will freeze rather than fight or flight in panic. Maybe you're having an attack and have the urge to flight??

Re: Urge to run and escape "something." Afraid of sleepwalking...

I wake up often only when my panic/anxiety wave has hit , but I do usually go back to sleep. A few times can't go back to sleep because the anxiety gets so bad.

Re: Urge to run and escape "something." Afraid of sleepwalking...

I'm having a lot of anxiety during the day, so my guess is that it might be like mini panic attacks going on at night while sleeping...

That's what I think it is too. It feelsa like my fight/flight triggers easily when my anxiety is intense.
